When Covid -19 shutdown the country, I had to refocus my work from portraits and street photography. One of the series I started and am still working on is documenting abandoned buildings. In rural Maine and New Hampshire there are many abandoned buildings in various states of decay. They evoke lost dreams, ruined lives, despair and desperation. While it has been an adventure finding the often hidden buildings, I think of the people who once gave them life and vitality. These dwellings speak to the isolation and ruptured lives imposed by the long Covid shutdown. They express some of the feelings I have had during this troubled time.
